Day 1 Zagreb
Upon arrival in Zagreb, pick up your rent-a-car and head from the airport to the city centre, check in to Hotel.
Recommended sightseeing tour: The sightseeing tour of the capital of Croatia featuring Upper Town and Down Town. The Upper Town is Zagreb’s historical centre. Overnight at Hotel in Zagreb.
Day 2 Zagreb - Opatija - Motovun
After breakfast depart for Kvarner. Optional stop in Fuzine. Stop in Opatija, for a walk around town. Then continue toward inland of Istria, to Motovun the most famous and attractive Istrian medieval town. This captivating hilltop town is one of the characteristic symbols of the Istrian interior. From Motovun hill enjoy breath taking view on surrounding vineyards. Overnight at hotel in Motovun.
Day 3 Motovun - Buzet - Roc - Hum - Pazin - Motovun
Breakfast at hotel. Meet your full day guide and head towards inland of Istria. The dreamlike nature, almost mythical landscapes and magic-like mediaeval towns of central Istria will make you believe you are in a fairy tale. Unspoiled natural landscapes, rich heritage and unmatched gastronomic offers will awake all your senses.
Head towards Buzet, City of Truffles. According to some views, the white truffle of Istria is as good as the most famous white truffle from the Italian region of Alba. But we will let you decide this on your own. In one of the oldest family owned truffle hunting company your will be offered, not only truffles and other local products, but you will also learn all about this gastronomic delight.
Your journey continues to Roc, town founded in ancient history. Today's outlook of Roc dates from the times of Venetian rule. Roc is famous for its small churches and long tradition of making frescoes.
Next on the way is Hum, the smallest town in the world, known also as The Gates of the World. Hum was first mentioned in 1102. And today it has 20 inhabitants. Recently Hum has been promoted as the Town of biska. Biska is mistletoe brandy whose original recipe comes from Hum.
Then we head to Hear of Istria, to town Pazin.
Pazin is the administrative center of Istria County, but also famous for its cultural and natural heritage.
The fascinating picture of the medieval Castle of Pazin (Kaštel), situated above the 130 m cliff where the Pazincica River flows into the Pazin Pit, inspired the renowned French writer Jules Verne as the setting for part of his novel “Mathias Sandorf”. End your journey in this region of true wonders. Return to Motovun for overnight.
Day 4 Motovun - Poreč
After breakfast enjoy free day for leisure and head towards Porec. Check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 5 Poreč - Rovinj - Poreč
After breakfast take a tour of Porec, famous for the unique example of the early Christian architecture, the Basilica of Euphrasius from the 6th century, protected by UNESCO. Also visit nearby town of Rovinj, Rovinj – a typical Mediterranean town, with colourful palaces and a beautiful church named after its patroness, St. Euphemia, housed within the town walls. Visit beautiful village of Bale and then return to Porec for ovenight.
Day 6 Poreč - Pula - Brijuni - Poreč
After breakfast head towards Pula, Pula – with its famed Ancient sites such as the impressive Roman amphitheatre, the Temple of Augustus, the Golden Gate (Portae Aureae), the Triumphal Arch of the Sergii. After head to Fazana for boat to Brijuni islands, National Park where you will enjoy 4 hours tour of the park.
Return to Porec for overnight.
Day 7 Poreč - Zagreb
After breakfast, time free until departure towards Zagreb. On the way you can stop at National park Plitvice Lakes for a visit. Check in and overnight in Zagreb.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast, time free until departure towards Airport Zagreb. Where you will drop off rent a car.
